Genesis Women's Shelter & Support
Genesis was founded in 1985 with the specific intention of assisting abused women and children in their transition to a safer life. Over the last 33 years, Genesis has grown from a small 7 bedroom facility, to a life-changing space that includes an emergency shelter, long-term housing, an award-winning onsite K-12 school, daycare, access to legal representation, and cutting-edge therapeutics. Genesis serves more than 2,500 women and children each year and relies on the generous support of the Dallas community to continue providing these services at no cost to clients.
"There is help and there is hope."
“Genesis Women’s Shelter was founded with a goal to not just help women, but to completely eradicate domestic violence. We have formulated our services to address the issue holistically and give each woman the same message: there is help and there is hope,” said Genesis Director of Communications, Amy Ridings.
How can we help?
For the month of October, every garment sold by Project Social T will have a hang tag printed with Genesis’ mission and website information. Project Social T will also be donating 500 pieces of clothing to the shelter to assist the women and children with their fresh start. Additionally, a portion of every purchase will be donated to provide safety, shelter and support to women and children who have experienced abuse.
